Monday Prayer: Gratitude for Sacrifice

Lord, you understand sacrifice intimately - you paid the ultimate price for my freedom. Today I'm grateful for those who've sacrificed for earthly freedoms I often take for granted. Thank you for men and women who've put their lives on hold to serve, who've faced dangers I'll never know, who carry burdens I can't fully understand.

Help me honor their service not just with words but with prayers, not just today but every day. Be close to those carrying wounds both visible and invisible. Heal trauma, ease guilt, restore peace to troubled minds. For those still serving, grant protection and wisdom. Help me never take freedom for granted - either the freedom secured by soldiers or the freedom purchased by your Son. Both cost someone everything.
