Monday Prayer: Help Me Trust Your Plan
Father, my circumstances look like disaster. Everything I hoped for is falling apart. Everything I built is crumbling. I can't see how this serves your good plan for me. From my perspective, this looks like harm, not prosperity; like despair, not hope; like endings, not future. Help me trust your character when I can't comprehend your methods.
The exiles in Babylon had to trust your plan included 70 years of suffering before restoration. Joseph had to trust your plan included years of slavery and prison before promotion. Your plan for redemption included Jesus's crucifixion before resurrection. Difficult experiences don't prove you've abandoned your plan - they might be how you're fulfilling it.
Give me faith to keep living faithfully even when circumstances contradict your promises. Help me build my life in this "Babylon" while trusting you're working purposes I can't see. What looks like disaster to me might be redirection toward something better. What feels like harm might be removing what would hurt me worse. I'm choosing to trust your plan even when it looks like disaster.
