Monday Prayer: Living in Freedom
Jesus, you purchased my freedom with your blood. While I was still a slave to sin, you died to set me free. I can't repay this, can't earn it, can't deserve it. It's pure gift - free to me, infinitely costly to you.
Forgive me for treating this freedom cheaply. For using liberty as license to sin, for taking grace for granted, for living carelessly with freedom that cost you everything. Your sacrifice demands response - not to earn salvation but to honor the One who gave it.
Teach me to live worthy of the freedom you purchased. Not perfectly - I'll fail. But intentionally, gratefully, seriously. You didn't die to leave me enslaved to sin, comfortable in bondage, satisfied with captivity. You died to make me free. Help me live like it's true. Your blood purchased my liberty. I don't want to waste it.
