Saturday Prayer: Being Before Doing

Jesus, you constantly withdrew from crowds to simply be with your Father - no agenda, no performance, just presence. You show me that relationship comes before activity, that knowing you matters more than serving you. Yet I keep reversing the order.

I've been so busy doing things for you that I've neglected being with you. I've checked off spiritual disciplines without actually meeting you in them. My prayers have become shopping lists instead of conversations. My Bible reading has become obligation instead of nourishment. Forgive me for treating you like a boss to please instead of a friend to know. Today, I choose the Mary posture - sitting at your feet, listening to your voice, simply being with you. Everything else can flow from that.
