Saturday Prayer: Redeem This Difficulty

Saturday Prayer: Redeem This Difficulty

Father, this trial is hard and I want it to end. I've prayed for relief, strategized for escape, begged you to make it stop. I don't understand why you're allowing this to continue when you have power to end it. It feels meaningless, purposeless, just random suffering that serves no good end.

Help me trust that you're working purposes I can't perceive. If this trial is developing perseverance, maturity, or deeper dependence on you, help me cooperate with that work even though I hate the process. If it's qualifying me to help others later, give me endurance to survive it. If it's revealing gaps between what I claim to believe and what I actually trust, show me honestly what needs changing.

I don't have to enjoy this to trust you're using it. I can hate the experience while believing in your purposes. Redeem this difficulty. Waste nothing, including my suffering. Produce through this trial whatever I can't develop any other way. I'm trusting your character when I can't comprehend your methods.
