Saturday Prayer: Valentine's Day
Lord, today the world celebrates romantic love, and I have complicated feelings about that. If I'm in a relationship, help me love with sacrificial, Christ-like love - not keeping score or demanding performance but serving and forgiving. If I'm single, help me remember I'm not incomplete, not less loved, not waiting for "real life" to begin when I find someone.
Thank you for loving me first - before I knew your name, before I sought you, before I did anything to deserve it. Thank you that your love isn't based on my performance or my relationship status. Thank you that Jesus lived fully and loved deeply while single, demonstrating that romantic relationship isn't required for a complete, meaningful life.
Help me receive your love deeply enough that it overflows to others - whether that's a spouse, friends, family, or strangers. Let me love because you first loved me, with the same kind of unconditional, sacrificial, pursuing love you've shown me. You are my first love, my greatest love, my eternal Valentine. Everything else is secondary to that.
