Saturday Prayer: When You Make No Sense

Saturday Prayer: When You Make No Sense

Father, sometimes your ways make no sense to me. Your commands seem to contradict your promises. Your methods appear to undermine your purposes. I want to obey, but obedience feels foolish. I want to trust, but circumstances scream that you're wrong. I want to surrender, but what you're asking seems essential for your plan to work.

Give me Abraham's faith - trusting your character when I can't comprehend your ways, obeying when obedience makes no sense, believing your promises when circumstances contradict them completely. You're sovereign over outcomes I can't control. You're faithful to promises I can't see fulfilled yet. You're good even when your ways seem bad.

Help me obey even when I don't understand. Help me trust even when afraid. Help me believe even when circumstances suggest I'm foolish for doing so. Your thoughts are higher than mine. Your ways are beyond my comprehension. But your character is trustworthy. That's enough. I'm obeying even when you make no sense. I trust you.
