Tuesday Prayer: Cultivating Gratitude

Father, I confess that gratitude doesn't come naturally to me. I'm much better at noticing what's wrong than celebrating what's right, much quicker to complain than to give thanks. I save gratitude for the big blessings and overlook the daily gifts you scatter through my ordinary hours.

Teach me to live with a grateful heart - not just on Thanksgiving but every day. Help me notice the small graces I usually ignore: breath, health, provision, relationships, your presence. When I'm tempted to focus on what I lack, redirect my eyes to what I have. When comparison steals my joy, gratitude can restore it. Today I'm practicing thanks - not because everything is perfect, but because you've been faithful. For who you are and what you've given, I'm grateful. Let that gratitude shape how I see everything else.
