Tuesday Prayer: Four Days to Pentecost

Tuesday Prayer: Four Days to Pentecost

Father, four days from now the Spirit will come and everything will change. But the disciples don't know it's four days. They're on day nine or ten of waiting, tired of trusting promises that haven't been fulfilled yet, wondering when "in a few days" will finally arrive. I'm in the same place - waiting for promises you've made, trusting words you've spoken, believing what I haven't seen yet.

Help me persevere like they did - praying constantly, maintaining unity, doing what I know to do while trusting you for what only you can do. Don't let me give up on day nine when day ten brings breakthrough. Don't let me abandon trust when the promise is almost here. Don't let me stop obeying when fulfillment is closer than I realize.

I don't know if my breakthrough is four days away or four years. But I know I'm one day closer than yesterday. That's enough to keep waiting, keep praying, keep trusting. You fulfill your promises. Your timing is perfect. Your word is sure. I'm waiting. Come, Holy Spirit.
