Tuesday Prayer: My Time and Place

Father, I didn't choose when or where I was born, but you did. You set me in this time, this place, these circumstances with purpose I don't fully understand. Sometimes I resent the limitations of my birth - wishing I had different opportunities, different family, different advantages. Sometimes I take my privileges for granted - forgetting they're gifts I didn't earn.

Forgive both my resentment and my presumption. Help me steward well what I've been given without pride. Help me accept what I lack without bitterness. Teach me to see my life circumstances not as accidents but as appointments - your intentional positioning of me for purposes I may not yet see.

Show me what you're calling me to do with the particular combination of advantages and disadvantages that define my life. Don't let me waste the resources I have or resent the ones I lack. You've positioned me here for such a time as this. Help me live worthy of that calling.
