Tuesday Prayer: Trusting the Plan

Lord, your plans for my life don't look like I expected. I thought following you meant clear direction and obvious blessing, but I'm experiencing confusion and what feels like failure. I'm in the prison phase, not the palace phase, and I don't know how long this will last or if rescue is even coming.

Help me trust your plans when they don't make sense to me. Help me believe your plans are good even when my circumstances aren't. Help me remember that Joseph didn't see the palace from the prison, that the exiles didn't see the return from Babylon, that Jesus didn't see resurrection from the cross - but your plans were being fulfilled through all of it.

I don't need to understand your plan; I need to trust your character. I don't need to see the whole journey; I need to take the next step. I don't need everything to work out on my timeline; I need confidence that you're faithful to complete what you start. Your plans are better than mine, even when they're harder than mine. Help me trust that today.
