Wednesday Prayer: Convictions with Compassion

Lord, you hold truth and grace in perfect tension - never compromising truth for the sake of peace, never using truth as a weapon to wound. You're both the Lion and the Lamb, both holy and merciful. Teach me to follow your example.

I confess that sometimes my convictions have made me cruel, my theology has made me judgmental, my certainty has made me harsh. I've valued being right over being loving, winning arguments over winning hearts. Forgive me for times I've used your truth as a club instead of a light. Help me hold strong convictions with tender compassion, defend truth without destroying people, stand firm without being rigid. Let my life prove that faith in you produces love, not violence; grace, not cruelty; humility, not extremism.
