Wednesday Prayer: Teach Me to Number My Days

Father, my days are numbered by you, but I live like time is infinite. I waste hours on things that don't matter, saying yes to urgency while neglecting priority. I let my time be dictated by others' demands instead of stewarding it according to your purposes. Forgive my carelessness with this precious gift.

Teach me to number my days, to recognize that every hour is being spent and can't be recovered. Give me wisdom to say no to good things in order to say yes to best things. Help me invest time in what will matter eternally instead of what simply feels urgent temporarily.

Show me where I'm wasting time - mindless scrolling, unnecessary busyness, activities that don't serve your purposes or develop my soul. Tomorrow I lose an hour to Daylight Saving, but I lose hours every day to carelessness. Redeem my time. Order my days. Help me live with the urgency that comes from knowing my time is limited and the peace that comes from trusting you with how I use it.
