Wednesday Prayer: This Ordinary Day
Father, today is ordinary - no major events, no dramatic moments, just another day of familiar routines and regular responsibilities. I'm tempted to devalue it, to see it as something to get through until something more exciting happens. But this is my life. These ordinary days are what I actually have.
Teach me to live them well. Help me see the sacred in the mundane, your presence in the ordinary, your purposes in the regular rhythms of daily life. Don't let me sleepwalk through my actual existence while waiting for some imagined better life to begin.
Give me gratitude for ordinary days - for routine that provides stability, for familiar faces that offer community, for unremarkable moments that allow rest. This isn't less-than life; this is actual life. Help me live it fully, faithfully, gratefully. Whatever I do today, let me do it for you, as worship. Make the ordinary sacred through your presence.
