Wednesday Prayer: Trading Anxiety for Peace
Father, you've told me repeatedly not to be anxious, yet anxiety is my default response to uncertainty. I catastrophize, I imagine worst-case scenarios, I try to control outcomes I can't control. My worry accomplishes nothing except stealing my peace and insulting your faithfulness. Today
Father, you've told me repeatedly not to be anxious, yet anxiety is my default response to uncertainty. I catastrophize, I imagine worst-case scenarios, I try to control outcomes I can't control. My worry accomplishes nothing except stealing my peace and insulting your faithfulness.
Today I'm making a trade - my anxiety for your peace. Every worry that surfaces, I'm casting it to you in prayer. Every "what if" that threatens to spiral me, I'm countering with thanksgiving for your track record. You've never failed me, never abandoned me, never proven unreliable. Help me remember that truth when anxiety whispers lies. Your perfect love is casting out my fear, your presence is replacing my panic. I choose trust over anxiety, faith over fear.
