Friday Prayer: Father's Day
Father, this day brings complicated emotions. Some celebrate fathers who loved them well. Others grieve fathers who failed them badly. Some feel guilty about their own fathering failures. Others ache with longing for children they never had. This day is harder than culture admits.
Thank you for showing fatherhood honestly in Scripture - as difficult calling where even faithful men fail repeatedly. Thank you that you're the perfect Father every human father points to imperfectly. You never fail, never abandon, never abuse, never disappoint. You're always present, completely trustworthy, endlessly patient, unfailingly loving.
For faithful fathers trying hard despite failures: give them grace to keep going, humility to acknowledge mistakes, wisdom to parent well, and trust that you cover their inadequacy. For those wounded by fathers: heal what was broken, restore what was stolen, and be the Father they needed but never had. You're our Father. That's enough.
