Friday Prayer: Five Days to Finish

Father, five days remain in September. I'm close enough to see the finish but not yet across it. This is when I either surge ahead or fade badly, either push through or give up because the month's almost over anyway. I've done both - sometimes finishing strong, often coasting to the end.

You're confident that you who began good work in me will complete it. My failures don't stop your work. My setbacks don't derail your plan. You're committed to finishing what you started. But I need to cooperate, not coast. Until Christ returns, I'm under construction. I'm not yet complete.

Help me finish these last five days pursuing what you're developing. Show me what from September 1st still matters - what core commitments deserve renewed attention. Give me strength to press on toward the goal. I can't control the twenty-five days that are gone. But I can determine how these last five unfold. Help me finish well.
