Monday Prayer: The Gift of Community

Father, you said it's not good for us to be alone, so you gave us each other. You designed us for connection, for bearing burdens together, for iron sharpening iron. In community, we catch glimpses of your love made visible.

I've been trying to do life solo again, convinced I can handle everything myself, reluctant to burden others with my needs. I've been giving help but struggling to receive it, building walls when I need bridges. Independence feels safer than vulnerability, but it's also lonelier. Thank you for the people who see through my "I'm fine" and love me anyway, for friends who show up without being asked, for the family - blood and chosen - that makes life richer.

Help me receive love as gracefully as I try to give it. Teach me to be vulnerable enough to be truly known, brave enough to let others help carry my load. Give me wisdom to know when to speak and when to listen, when to give advice and when to simply be present. Tonight, I'm grateful for every person you've placed in my life. Help me love them well and let them love me back.
