Monday Prayer: The Great Commission

Jesus, you have all authority in heaven and earth, and you've commissioned me to make disciples of all nations. This feels overwhelming - I'm not qualified, not trained, not equipped for global mission. Yet you didn't ask if I felt ready. You commanded me to go and promised to be with me always.

Forgive me for reducing your Great Commission to the church's Great Suggestion. Forgive me for treating disciple-making as professional ministers' job instead of every believer's responsibility. Forgive me for measuring church success by attendance instead of disciples, by programs instead of transformation, by comfort instead of obedience.

Show me who you're calling me to disciple. Give me courage to baptize, wisdom to teach, patience to train, and faithfulness to obey everything you commanded. You're with me in this. Your authority backs this commission. Your presence empowers this obedience. Help me make disciples until you return.
