Sunday Prayer: Shaken Foundations

Jesus, you warned that everyone building their life on sand will experience great collapse when storms come. The San Francisco earthquake proved this literally - buildings on fill collapsed while those on bedrock stood. My life is being shaken right now, and I'm discovering how much I built on sand instead of rock.

Forgive me for building security on career success, identity on achievements, hope on circumstances working out, peace on everything going smoothly. These looked stable until shaking started. Now they're proving devastatingly unstable. I heard your words but didn't obey them. I built on sand while thinking it was rock.

Use this shaking to reveal what I've built poorly so I can rebuild on you. Strip away false securities. Demolish sandy foundations. Let only what's built on you remain. You're the only bedrock that can't be shaken. Help me rebuild everything on you alone.
