Saturday Prayer: I Believe in Bodily Resurrection

Father, whether Mary was assumed bodily into heaven or not, I believe in bodily resurrection for all who are in Christ. You created bodies good, became incarnate in a body, rose bodily from death, and promise bodily resurrection for believers. Physical existence matters to you, and it matters eternally.

Thank you that death is not the end, that bodies will be redeemed, that I won't just exist as disembodied spirit but will be raised with a glorified body like Christ's. Thank you that what you did for Jesus, you will do for me. His resurrection is the guarantee and pattern for mine.

Until that day, help me treat my body as something you care about - not a prison to escape but a good creation to steward well. Help me live in light of resurrection hope, believing that this physical life is preparation for eternal embodied existence in your presence. Death doesn't have the final word. You do. And your word is life.
