Friday Prayer: Help Me Trust Glory Is Coming

Friday Prayer: Help Me Trust Glory Is Coming

Father, I'm suffering and it's hard to believe glory is coming. The pain is real, the loss is actual, the disappointment cuts deep. I want relief now, not promises about later. But you say present suffering doesn't compare to future glory. Help me believe that when all I can see is pain.

I'm fixing my eyes on what's unseen - on glory I can't yet see, on promises I haven't experienced, on future I can't imagine. Give me faith to believe the unseen future is more real than the visible present. Help me trust that this suffering is temporary even though it feels permanent, that it's light even though it feels crushing.

Thank you that Jesus understands suffering from experience. Thank you that he walked this road before me and promises to walk it with me. Thank you that suffering isn't meaningless even when I can't see its purpose. You're using even this to produce glory that will make every moment of pain seem worthwhile. I'm trusting you. What I'm walking through is temporary. What's ahead is eternal.
