Saturday Prayer: Numbered Days

Father, the Loma Prieta earthquake killed 63 people doing ordinary things on a Tuesday afternoon. They woke up expecting normal day. Death came without warning. I'm doing the same thing - living like I have unlimited time, postponing important conversations, delaying obedience, wasting opportunities, assuming tomorrow will come.
Teach me to number my days that I may gain a heart of wisdom. Not to produce anxiety but to generate urgency. I don't know when my last day will be. It could be October 17, 2026. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Next week might not come. This month might be my last.
Show me what matters most and help me do it today. Who needs to hear "I love you" while they're still here? What relationship needs reconciliation while there's still time? What obedience needs pursuing while I have opportunity? Life is gift. Time is limited. Help me use October 17 like someone who knows it might be all I have.
Your evening prayer will be waiting for you right here when you check back in.
