Sunday Prayer: New Creation

Sunday Prayer: New Creation

Father, I'm trapped by my past. I confessed my failures to you, received your forgiveness, yet I still define myself by what I did wrong. My worst moments play on repeat in my mind. I believe I'm permanently disqualified because of past mistakes. I can't forgive myself even though you've forgiven me.

Help me believe I'm new creation. The old has gone - not "is going" but already gone. I'm not improved version of old me but completely new person in Christ. My past failures were significant but not stronger than Jesus's sufficient sacrifice. There's no condemnation for those in Christ. Stop me from living under guilt you already removed.

Yes, consequences remain - broken trust must rebuild, damaged relationships require repair. But consequences aren't condemnation. I can face results of my sin without believing I'm defined by it forever. Peter denied you and became the church's leader. Paul persecuted Christians and became your greatest missionary. My failures don't disqualify me if I let grace transform them into deeper dependence. I'm new creation. Help me live like it.
