Sunday Prayer: Starting February
Father, I'm starting this month already feeling behind. January's plans lie in ruins around me - resolutions broken, goals abandoned, promises to myself already forgotten. I wanted to show up to February victorious, but I'm arriving defeated instead.
Thank you that your mercies don't wait for me to get my act together. They're new this morning, not because I earned them but because you're faithful. Thank you that February's grace isn't less than January's, that your commitment to me doesn't diminish when my performance does.
Help me build this month differently - not on my determination but on your faithfulness, not on my strength but on your grace, not on my consistency but on your mercy. I don't need to recover January's enthusiasm; I need to receive February's fresh supply of what only you can give. Meet me here in the middle of my failure and show me what sustainable faithfulness actually looks like. One day at a time, dependent on you.
