Lord Jesus, you came once as a baby in Bethlehem, and you're coming again in glory. As we enter this Advent season, teach me to wait actively - not passively hoping but expectantly preparing. Like Simeon, let me watch faithfully. Like Anna, let me worship constantly. Like the wise virgins,

I confess that I've settled into comfortable Christianity, living as if you're not returning anytime soon. Wake me from spiritual slumber. Revive my sense of urgency about your kingdom. Help me live today in light of that coming day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that you are Lord. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. I'm watching. I'm waiting. I'm ready.
