Thursday Prayer: July Ends
Father, July is ending. This month I've walked through Ordinary Time - learning about perseverance when it feels pointless, finding contentment when circumstances don't change, trusting your timing when it makes no sense. I've discovered that spiritual performance doesn't satisfy like genuine transformation, that suffering can serve purposes beyond my pain, that your love is unshakeable regardless of what happens.
Thank you for July's lessons - about you, about myself, about areas needing growth. Thank you for your presence in ordinary moments when nothing spectacular happened. Thank you for grace covering failures while empowering faithfulness. Thank you for strength when I was weary, help when I looked to you, love that never let go.
As August begins tomorrow, help me carry forward what July taught. Don't let me acknowledge insights and forget them. Let them shape how I live, what I choose, who I become. The month is ending but my formation continues. July prepared me for August. Your faithfulness continues. New month, same faithful God. That's enough to end July with gratitude and begin August with hope.
