Thursday Prayer: Small Things With Great Love
Father, I confess my fascination with significance, my hunger for impact, my desire for visibility. I want to do something that matters, accomplish something impressive, build something people notice. But you're calling me to faithfulness in small things - ordinary obedience when nobody's watching, quiet service that goes unrecognized, hidden faithfulness that never gets celebrated.
Thérèse teaches me that holiness isn't about heroic deeds but about doing little things with great love. Help me embrace that. Show me the small tasks before me today and give me grace to do them wholeheartedly for your glory. The kind word I could speak. The patience I could show. The prayer I could offer. The work I could complete excellently.
Don't let me despise small things or dismiss ordinary work as inferior to dramatic ministry. Jesus spent thirty years doing carpentry. That mattered. My ordinary work matters too when I do it for your glory. Teach me the little way - faithfulness in small things, great love in ordinary moments, quiet obedience in hidden places. That's enough. You're looking for that. Help me give it.
