Thursday Prayer: St. George's Faithfulness

Thursday Prayer: St. George's Faithfulness

Father, George was ordinary soldier who became extraordinary martyr - not by slaying dragons but by refusing to deny Christ despite torture and death. He confessed you when confession cost everything. He stood firm when bending seemed reasonable. He chose faithfulness over life itself.

I face much smaller pressures to compromise, yet I often cave. I keep faith private when speaking would cost something. I accommodate cultural demands that contradict your Word. I choose comfort over costly obedience. I'm not facing martyrdom, but I'm failing smaller tests George would have passed easily.

Give me his faithfulness in my context. Help me refuse compromise even when nobody would blame me for capitulating. Teach me to confess you publicly when it's costly, to stand firm when it's easier to bend, to choose you over comfort. The dragon I'm fighting isn't literal, but the battle is real. Make me faithful.
