Prayer is relationship with you, not technique to master. Teresa emphasized spending time with you as a friend, talking honestly, listening in silence. I complicate prayer with methods and worry about doing it right. Teach me to just be with you. That's what you want - authentic presence, not eloquent performance.

I'm fifteen days into October. The real transformation isn't in external religious activity but in the interior castle - the private space where I encounter you. Help me remain connected to you, the vine. Apart from you I can do nothing that lasts. United to you, I'll bear fruit naturally. That's enough. Teach me to remain.
