Wednesday Prayer: Ordinary Days, Extraordinary Purposes

Father, October 14, 1066, seemed like just another battle to Harold and William. They didn't know they were fighting for world history. They were making decisions based on immediate circumstances without seeing centuries-long consequences. I'm doing the same - living an ordinary day that might be more significant than I realize.

Help me live October 14, 2026, with both humility and intentionality. Humility because I can't predict or control outcomes. My best plans might fail. My worst decisions might be redeemed. I'm not sovereign. But intentionality because ordinary days matter. The choices I make today might impact people I never meet. The conversations I have might change lives. The work I do faithfully might accomplish purposes I never witness.

I don't know what you're orchestrating through this ordinary day. The encounter that seems random might be divine appointment. The task that feels mundane might be historically significant. I won't know which until later. So I'll live it faithfully. Use this ordinary day for your extraordinary purposes.

Your evening prayer will be waiting for you right here when you check back in.
