Tuesday Prayer: Use My Weakness
Father, I feel unqualified for what you're asking. I don't have the skills, knowledge, confidence, or competence others possess. I've tried and failed, attempted and quit, started and stalled. I look at more talented people and wonder why you'd use me when better options exist. I'm tempted to disqualify myself before you do.
Help me remember that you specialize in using unlikely people for significant purposes. My weakness isn't disqualifying - it might be exactly what makes me usable if it forces me to depend on you rather than myself. Stop me from waiting until I feel qualified. I'll never feel qualified. That's not the point. Availability is.
Like John Vianney, let me focus on loving you and loving people rather than proving competence or chasing recognition. Let me be faithful in small things rather than impressive in big things. My job isn't being the most talented. It's being the most available. Use my weakness to display your power. Make it obvious that results come from you, not me.
