Wednesday Prayer: Content in All Circumstances
Lord, I confess I've been attracted to prosperity gospel promises - that if I just had enough faith, prayed correctly, or believed hard enough, you'd fix my circumstances, heal my struggles, and make my life comfortable. But that's not the gospel you preached or the life you lived.
Forgive my vending-machine theology that treats you like a cosmic ATM. You're not obligated to make me wealthy, healthy, or comfortable just because I follow you. Your promises are better than prosperity - you promise your presence, your grace, your strength in weakness, yourself as my ultimate treasure.
Teach me Paul's secret of contentment in all circumstances. Help me measure blessing by knowing you, not by having things. Let me trust your goodness when life isn't good, your provision when I'm in need, your sufficiency when I'm weak. You are my prosperity. You are my blessing. You are enough, even when I have nothing else.
