Wednesday Prayer: Learning to Rest

Jesus, you are my rest when the world demands endless motion. You're the peace that passes understanding, the stillness in the center of every storm. You modeled rest for me, showing that even God's Son needed time to step away and breathe.

I've been wearing busyness like a badge of honor, convinced that rest is laziness and stillness is wasted time. I've been running on fumes, trying to prove my worth through productivity. My soul feels stretched thin. Thank you for designing rest into the rhythm of creation, for making Sabbath sacred, for inviting me to find my worth in being, not just doing. Thank you for loving me the same whether I'm achieving or just breathing.

Teach me to rest without guilt, to be still without anxiety. Help me trust that the world will keep spinning if I take time to simply be with you. Give me the wisdom to know when to work and when to stop. Tonight, I practice resting in your presence, knowing that in you I don't have to earn love - I already have it.
