Wednesday Prayer: Weak but Strong

Father, I'm weak. Four days into November and I'm already struggling. The energy I felt on November 1 has faded. The commitments that seemed manageable now feel impossible. I'm discovering again that my strength has limits.

I keep asking you to make me stronger, heal my weaknesses, remove obstacles. Like Paul, I've pleaded three times—and more—for you to take away what torments me. But you keep saying: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

I don't like that answer. I want to be strong, capable, sufficient. But you're teaching me that my weakness is where your power works best. When I'm weak, I depend on you. When I'm struggling, you carry me. When I'm inadequate, your adequacy becomes obvious.

Help me stop hiding my weaknesses and start serving from them. Let your power work through my limitations. What I can't do, you can. What I can't overcome, you can redeem. What I can't change, you can use. I'm weak. But in you, I'm strong.

Your evening prayer will be waiting for you right here when you check back in.
