Friday Prayer: Creation Care

Father, you created the heavens and the earth and called them very good. You made humans to serve and protect creation, to exercise dominion as stewards rather than exploiters. But we've ravaged what you commanded us to care for, prioritized profit over protection, treated creation as ours to consume rather than yours to manage.

Forgive my careless consumption, my wasteful habits, my indifference to environmental consequences. I've acted like creation exists only for my comfort, forgotten it belongs to you, ignored that you'll renew the earth rather than replace it. Creation groans under sin's curse, waiting for redemption. Don't let me add to its suffering through negligent stewardship.

Show me how to care for creation faithfully - consuming consciously, choosing responsibly, advocating for policies that protect rather than exploit. The earth is yours, not mine to ravage. Help me serve and protect what you've entrusted to me. Every act of creation care is act of worship, acknowledging you as Creator and owner. Teach me to steward faithfully what will ultimately be redeemed completely.
