Friday Prayer: Faithful Through Everything
Father, Mary believed your promise when she was young, gave birth to Jesus in a stable, raised him through childhood, watched him launch ministry, witnessed his crucifixion, and then showed up in the upper room to pray with other believers. She could have given up after the cross. She could have let grief and trauma destroy her faith. But she stayed faithful, showed up, kept believing.
Help me have that kind of persistence. I want to quit when things get hard, to abandon faith when promises seem delayed, to isolate when pain overwhelms me. But Mary kept showing up - not demanding special treatment, not leveraging unique experience, just praying with other believers and waiting for your promised Spirit.
Give me her faithfulness through impossible circumstances, her obedience despite incredible cost, her persistence after devastating loss. I don't need special status or elevated position. I need faith that endures, hope that persists, and willingness to keep showing up with your people even when everything in me wants to quit. Make me faithful like Mary.
