Friday Prayer: May Begins

Friday Prayer: May Begins

Father, May begins with celebrations old and new - ancient spring festivals and modern labor movements, natural cycles and human struggles. Thank you that you created seasons, that winter gives way to spring, that what looks dead comes back to life. Your faithfulness shows in creation's rhythms.

Thank you that work matters to you - not as measure of my worth but as reflection of your image. You work, and I work. Help me labor faithfully whether acknowledged or overlooked, compensated fairly or exploited unjustly. My work isn't ultimately for earthly employers but for you.

I'm between Easter and Pentecost, between resurrection and the Spirit's power. Use this month to prepare me for whatever comes next. May begins. Your faithfulness continues. That's enough.
