Saturday Prayer: Sent With Authority

Jesus, you claimed all authority in heaven and on earth, then commissioned your followers - including me - to make disciples of all nations. This command intimidates me. I don't feel qualified to make disciples. I struggle with my own obedience, doubt my own understanding, question my own faith. How can I teach others?

But you gave this commission to doubters and worshipers together. You didn't wait for perfect certainty before sending them out. You don't wait for my perfect readiness either. You promise to be with me always - not just when I feel confident but especially when I feel inadequate.

Help me make disciples as I go - in my neighborhood, workplace, family, community. Give me courage to share what you've done for me, wisdom to teach what you've commanded, patience to walk with people as they learn to follow you. I can't do this alone. But you promised you'd be with me always. That's enough. Send me.
