Friday Prayer: One Day Before

Friday Prayer: One Day Before

Father, the disciples are one day before Pentecost, but they don't know it. The Sabbath is ending. They'll return to prayer. Tomorrow will be just another day of waiting - until suddenly it's the day everything changes. I'm one day before something too. Or one month. Or one year. I don't know.

Help me be faithful today without knowing what tomorrow brings. Help me pray when nothing seems to change. Help me trust when promises seem delayed. Help me wait when I don't know how long "wait" means. The disciples were faithful on day twelve just like day one. Make me faithful too.

I might be on day eleven right now, one day before breakthrough. Or I might have eleven hundred more days to wait. I don't know. But I know you keep your promises. I know Jesus is faithful. I know the Spirit is coming. I'll keep waiting, keep praying, keep trusting. Tomorrow might be the day. Or tomorrow might be just tomorrow. Either way, I'll be faithful. Come, Holy Spirit.
