Friday Prayer: Recalibrating My Systems

Friday Prayer: Recalibrating My Systems

Father, I've created systems for relating to you - prayer schedules, Bible reading plans, spiritual practices. These aren't wrong. Structure helps. But I confess I sometimes confuse my systems with your reality, treating my frameworks as if they're you instead of tools pointing toward you.

Show me where my spiritual life has drifted from its purpose. What practices that once helped me grow are now just routine? What theological frameworks I've held might need recalibration? Like the calendar before 1582, my religious systems can drift imperceptibly until they're significantly off from where you actually are.

Give me courage to adjust when necessary - to skip days, change methods, abandon frameworks that aren't working. The calendar switch was jarring but corrective. Sometimes spiritual growth requires similar disruption. I'm not trying to control you or systematize everything. I'm trying to realign my life with your reality. Help me see what needs recalibrating.
