Friday Prayer: Redeeming My Pain

Friday Prayer: Redeeming My Pain

Father, I'm in pain and I don't understand why. I've prayed for relief and you've provided comfort instead. I've begged for circumstances to change and you've sustained me through them instead. Like Paul in Asia, I feel pressed beyond my ability to endure. I've despaired. I've questioned. I've wondered if you care.

But Paul found purpose in his pain - it taught him to rely on you completely and qualified him to comfort others. Help me trust you're doing the same in my suffering. This pain has purpose beyond my immediate experience. You're teaching me dependence, providing comfort, preparing me to help others through similar struggles.

Don't let me waste my suffering by keeping it private or pretending I never struggled. When this trial ends, use it to help others still fighting similar battles. Let the comfort I'm receiving become comfort I give them. Redeem my pain by multiplying it to bring hope to others. My worst experiences can become my most effective ministry. I'm trusting you're using this for purposes beyond what I can see right now.
