Thursday Prayer: Trusting God's Timing

Thursday Prayer: Trusting God's Timing

Father, your timing makes no sense to me. I asked, you didn't answer. I prayed, you delayed. I begged, you were silent. Like Mary and Martha, I believe you could fix this situation but I can't understand why you haven't. The delay feels cruel. The waiting feels pointless. Your timing seems to contradict your promises.

Help me trust your character when I can't comprehend your methods. You see what I can't see, know what I don't know, understand what I can't comprehend. The delay I'm experiencing might be positioning me for something better than immediate answer would provide. The waiting might be preparing me for what I've been praying for.

I don't need to understand your timing to trust it. I don't need to see the whole plan to take the next step of obedience. Lazarus's sisters didn't understand until they saw him walk out of the tomb. I might not understand until I see what you've been preparing. But I'm trusting anyway. Your timing is perfect even when it makes no sense to me. Help me believe that today.
