Monday Prayer: June Begins

Monday Prayer: June Begins

Father, June begins and I'm in Ordinary Time - the long stretch between festivals, the weeks without spectacular moments, the daily rhythm of faithfulness without drama. I confess I struggle to maintain spiritual awareness when life feels routine. I want mountain-top experiences but you're teaching me to walk through valleys.

Help me find you in ordinary moments - in morning coffee and evening dishes, in conversations and commutes, in work that nobody notices and service that brings no applause. You're present in the mundane. Teach me to notice you there. Don't let me waste Ordinary Time waiting for extraordinary moments.

As the sun reaches its peak this month then begins declining, remind me that your faithfulness doesn't change with seasons. You're as present on ordinary Tuesdays as on Easter Sunday. Whatever I do today - spectacular or mundane - let me do it for you. June begins. Your presence continues. That's enough for this ordinary day.
