Sunday Prayer: May Ends
Father, May is ending. This month I walked from Pentecost's power through persecution's pressure, from receiving the Spirit through releasing witness, from empowerment through execution. I learned that Spirit-filling brings responsibility, that faithfulness in small things prepares for significant impact, that persecution spreads the gospel instead of stopping it, that suffering for Christ proves the gospel's power.
Thank you for Stephen's example - serving tables faithfully, speaking truth boldly, dying forgiving enemies. Thank you for Philip's obedience - leaving success for obscurity, explaining Scripture clearly, crossing barriers completely. Thank you for the scattered believers who became scattered witnesses. Persecution didn't stop them. It spread them. And everywhere they went, they preached Christ.
As June begins tomorrow, help me remember May's lessons. The Spirit fills me to send me. Faithfulness matters more than fame. Suffering for Christ isn't failure. The gospel crosses all barriers. The mission continues. Give me Stephen's courage, Philip's obedience, and the scattered believers' persistence. May ends. Your faithfulness continues. Fill me afresh. Send me out. I'm ready.
