Monday Prayer: Kingdom Living
Father, Jesus spent forty days teaching his disciples about your kingdom - not the political kingdom they expected but the spiritual kingdom he inaugurated. Your kingdom isn't like earthly kingdoms. It advances through sacrifice, spreads through service, and grows through suffering. This confuses me. I want power, success, and visible results. You offer weakness, service, and hidden growth.
Help me understand that your kingdom is already here but not fully realized. You reign wherever you're acknowledged as king. Your values govern wherever people submit to your authority. But the kingdom isn't complete yet. I live in the tension between what you've accomplished and what you're preparing.
Teach me to live as kingdom citizen - pursuing righteousness, showing mercy, making peace, enduring persecution. Help me trust that small faithfulness matters more than grand gestures, that hidden obedience advances the kingdom more than public performance, that your kingdom comes in your timing regardless of my effort. Your kingdom, your power, your glory. Forever. Amen.
