Tuesday Prayer: Learning to Wait
Father, you told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for your promised gift. They obeyed without knowing when the promise would come, what it would feel like, or how it would change them. They just waited because you told them to. This challenges me. I want timelines, guarantees, and advance knowledge of outcomes. You give me promises and commands to wait.
I'm in my own waiting season right now. You've made promises I haven't seen fulfilled. You've given commands I haven't seen results from. You've told me to stay where staying feels risky, to trust when trusting feels foolish, to obey when obedience seems ineffective.
Teach me to wait actively - praying constantly, maintaining unity with other believers, preparing for what's coming even when I don't know what that is. Help me trust your timing more than my impatience, your wisdom more than my understanding, your promises more than my circumstances. You told them to wait. The Spirit came. You tell me to wait. I trust the promise will come. Help my unbelief.
