Sunday Prayer: Finishing Like Caleb

Father, Caleb waited forty-five years for your promise. At eighty-five he didn't request easy assignments suitable for old age. He demanded hill country occupied by giants - the hardest territory available. He finished strong, pursuing difficult challenges because he trusted you as much at eighty-five as at forty.
I'm twenty-five days into October with six remaining. The temptation is coasting to the end or giving up because the month didn't go as planned. But Caleb's example says finish strong. Don't avoid difficulty because it's hard. Pursue it because finishing well matters.
Show me my hill country for the final six days. What's the difficult thing I've been avoiding all month? The conversation I dread? The apology I resist? The discipline I've abandoned? The sin I'm hiding? That's my hill country. Give me Caleb's courage to pursue it. Six days is enough time to do something meaningful. Help me finish strong. The finish line is visible. I'm running toward it.
Your evening prayer will be waiting for you right here when you check back in.
