Sunday Prayer: Pressing Through the Middle
Father, I'm at October's midpoint and I'm tired. The enthusiasm I felt on October 1 has faded. The complications I didn't anticipate have accumulated. I'm looking at twenty days remaining and feeling overwhelmed by the gap between what I intended and what I've accomplished. The rubble is everywhere.
Nehemiah's workers faced the same thing - giving out at midpoint, surrounded by rubble, overwhelmed by remaining work. But they didn't quit. They acknowledged difficulty, adjusted strategy, and kept building. Help me do the same. Show me what needs changing for the second half to be more effective than the first.
I won't harvest anything if I give up at the messy middle. Give me strength to push through when energy fades, wisdom to modify what isn't working, and perseverance to keep building when quitting seems easier. The messy middle is where character forms. Form it in me. Twenty days remain. That's enough to finish something meaningful. Help me make them count.
