Thursday Prayer: Free Me From Fear's Control
Father, I'm afraid and fear is controlling me. I avoid opportunities because of what might go wrong. I stay in unhealthy situations because change feels threatening. I can't sleep because anxiety dominates my thoughts. Fear isn't just feeling anymore - it's making decisions for me, limiting choices, stealing peace. I need freedom from fear's tyranny.
Help me remember your presence. The threat isn't facing me alone - you and I are facing it together. You're with me, you're my God, you'll strengthen me and help me and uphold me. When fear says "what if this destroys you," help me answer "God is with me." When fear says "you can't handle this," help me respond "Christ will strengthen me."
Teach me courage - not absence of fear but action despite it. Help me obey even when I'm afraid, do scary things while my heart races, break fear's control by proving I can function despite it. Fear doesn't have to paralyze me. I'm choosing trust. The fear is real, the threat might be real, but you're more real than both. I'm trusting you instead of letting fear control me.
